We will monitor proceedings in Parliament on a daily basis and in particular, press releases on new bills in the house as the are submitted for their first reading, following their submission to select committee and through their second and third readings and finally, as they receive royal assent and pass into new laws.
We will provide commentary on new laws from time to time and generally, will endeavour to provide up to date and relevant information on all areas of New Zealand laws for our readers.
In addition, we will post updates from time to time on topical matters occurring in New Zealand as and when Parliament takes steps to intervene. Recent examples of such events are the Canterbury Earthquake of September 4, 2010, February 22, 2011, June 13 2011 and latterly, 23 December 2011 and in excess of eight thousand after shocks which have been experienced in Christchurch and surrounds since then and also, the Pike River mining tragedy and the efforts of the government to assist in that matter.
